Birders from around the world enjoy identifying many of the 140 plus species of birds native to this area. We have year-round and seasonal species putting on a show for birders.. Many of the seasonal birds raise their young in our protected area and then head on to their favorite winter digs. The very smallest (Hummingbirds),the most entertaining (Harlequin ducks), the cleverest (Blue Jays), the most opportunistic (Great Horned Owls), the most unusual (Oyster Catchers), the very largest, (Bald Eagles), and many more, are sighted in abundance on a daily basis.
