A Seaside Adventure
what sets us apart?
  •  A Seaside Adventure is a small, individualized  Ecotour business with over 25 years experience and a perfect safety record guiding in Kachemak Bay.
  • We live and headquarter our tours in Little Tutka Bay, also known as Cozy Cove, on the south side of the Kachemak Bay, ten water miles from the small town of Homer, Alaska. We are away from the road system, right in the spectacular, most protected cove and island system of Kachemak Bay where we take you on our tours among an abundance of wildlife and spectacular scenery.
  • Rick has a passion for and has studied the pristine natural environment of Kachemak Bay all his life. He shares his knowledge with humor, and his enthusiasm for his home is contagious. He shares his collection of native artifacts and shows you archeological sites, and some of the area's fascinating geological formations.
  • Even though our seaside retreat is all about wildlife, we are glad to be able to promise you that you won’t find the flocks of mosquitoes many places in Alaska are famous for.
  • Lunch is an event in its own right, when you take our full day kayaking trip. The menu includes our delectable signature beach soup, which we make fresh right on the beach with the sea and beach greens we collect with our guests and fresh seafood.
  • You might want to visit for a day, but you also have the option to stay in this 'living picture' you saw from the highway lookout on the other side of the bay. Spend a few days in our cozy seaside cabin where you can take in the serenity, natural wonders, sunsets, wildlife and adventures that let you forget the busy world of the road system for a while.
  • A very economical way to enjoy and explore the spectacular South side of Kachemak Bay is our one night/two day package of guided kayaking, staying a night in our comfortable log cabin and going on a day hike on one of the most incredible scenic trails in the entire region, the Grace Ridge trail in Kachemak Bay State Park.  With only one water taxi roundtrip from Homer, you can explore the  most  protected waters of the  bay by kayak, with its abundant wildlife, fantastic intertidal zoneand archeological sites your first day and hike along the Grace Ridge on the second day. The trail winds through the forest and soon reaches the open alpine landscape with its breathtaking vistas of the Cook Inlet, Kachemak Bay and two major fjords. You will be  thoroughly enjoy this extraordinary experience. The price of $240 per person based on a party of two, or $208 per person based on a party of four and includes round trip water taxi from Homer, cabin rental, guided kayaking tour with lunch, water transportation to the Grace Ridge trailhead and a self-guided hike on the well - maintained trail.  Our full - day guided kayak trip is $150 per person, including the round trip water taxi from Homer, your guide, your gear and lunch.
